New to Silkies, a little help?

I bought four silikes from TSC about 3 weeks ago. Any ideas if I have roos or hens? What color do you think these guys will feather out to? Thanks for the help.

From what I can see, the one in the back with a large walnut comb starting is probably a roo. I can't see the others clearly.

I wish mine got silkies! But of course I'd be brining more home then. We'll see how I do with 18 (gulp!).

I was under the impression that you could not sex Silkies until they were around 5 months old.

I wish my TSC carried Silkies too! I would have a lot more chickens if they did! LOL!

No idea about the sex, it's hard to tell with Silkies. The non bearded are easier to tell but not for a few months. They are going to be buff color Silkies.

I think I am going to complain to my Local TSC as they had Reds and Sexlinks too - Oh and I am changing my name to Jealousy!

Two of them appear to have larger combs, so I was thinking they were roos. When I was picking them out I hung them by their feet and two sat up and two did not. I know that there are some other posts on here mostly saying that was an ole wise tale, but maybe it happen to work this time! Guess time will tell. I was suprised my TSC had silkies, though I was done with chicks for the year.

I've had a couple old farmers tell me that if you hang them by their feet and they curl and raise their head up it's a roo. If they just lay strait down its a pullet. Doubt that it really works, but it makes for a good experiment.
