Growing up my mother always had hens for the eggs and since I just bought my first house on 2.2 acres in Battle Ground, Wa I really wanted to get a few. Neighbor was moving and I was able to get all his young ones. 26 pullets 5-10 weeks old and 1 5 week old Araucana rooster. The pullets are a mix of Buff Orphington, Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rocks and one Leghorn.

Is there any concerns regarding the wet weather here in the NW that i need to be aware of?
They will have a large coop and enclosed run for shelter and security but will also be allowed to free range the yard when the weather is nice.

Thanks, Tanner.

. ummmm weather i wouldn't think so just as long as they have a nice weather resistant coop that they can stay out of the nasty weather in. Im in southern cali so i have the heat problem more than cold.
