We live in Advance, 30 miles from Cape Girardeau. They do get along just fine, I do have to tell some of the roosters to be nice every once in a while! :)

Hello all!
I am new to the site and also new to raising chickens! I posted for the first time today to ask for help finding a home for my accidental rooster! We got 3 chicks in early April and have realized now that one of the hens is in fact not! He is my favorite one of our little flock, so I am very sad to have to let him go. Unfortunately we live within city limits, and roosters are a no-go here, (I live in Ft Collins, CO). So, I have spent the day searching all available resources to find him a home. So far, a friend may have a friend on some property outside of the city limits, or I will take him to our local Humane Society, which is a no-kill shelter. So fingers crossed!

So, now I have two Barred Rock hens......do I need to replace the 3rd chick now that I have taken the rooster out? I read somewhere that 3 is a good number (minimum) to have.....

) I have seen a few people advertise on Craigslist that they will take unwanted roosters for their farm. I haven't looked lately, but it may be worth a shot.
