Hello! I'm a 26 yr old stay at home mom of 3, a girl and 2 boys, ages 5, 2 and 3 months respectively. We have a small mixed flock of chickens ranging from around 2 years to 3.5 months. We have 1 RIR, 2 SLW, 1 Golden Comet, 1 Lavender Ameracauna, 1 NHR/RIR and 5 mutts that I believe are Easter Eggers, although two are supposed to be Ameracauna. I'm an open book, any questions, just ask. :)

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Sounds like you have a lovely flock! Good luck with them all and welcome to this community.

I feel like an overly busy momma on occasion. And I just added 4 more EEs to my flock. (One is a Salmon Faverolles mix at best guess.) The blue roo I just added does seem to be purebred Ameracauna. But we shall see.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. Beware of "chicken math." Very few BYC members are immune to it.) Raising chickens is a wonderful experience for children. Our children and granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) loved our chickens and made lap pets of the calmer and more gentle breeds. You can post pics of your chickens on our What Breed or Gender is This? section at https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this and let our experts there ID them for you. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Thank you so much, Michael OShay! I'm definitely not a newbie to Chicken Math. It's going to be the biggest issue between my mom and I, honestly. We're living with her while saving up money to buy our own property to save on expenses. She loves the Easter Eggers because she likes the blue eggs. I'm hoping to start breeding Ameracaunas, so hopefully she won't get too awful mad at me when I get new birds. ;) I just added 4 on Saturday and looking at adding another 2 sometime in the next week or 2. LOL

I will definitely be taking advantage of the expert's help in identifying my babies. Goddess knows I spend too much time online trying to figure out what they all are. :)

You're welcome. All of us here at BYC have OCD (Obsessive Chicken Disorder).)

My husband is even developing OCD. :) But I think he just likes the idea of them creating enough money to cover their feed and the fact that I am MUCH happier after I've been out with my birds. :)
