New to site but not to chickens

Welcome to BYC. I try to stay away from production breeds. They tend to live shorter lives, have more reproductive issues, and burn out faster. However, my chickens are mostly pets and I'm not too concerned with egg production.

I agree...I would actually rather my chickens lay as few eggs as possible, because I want them to live longer.
