New to the chicken life!

I'm Cynthia, from Central Florida. As of right now we are still in the planning and building stages before getting the chickens. I still can't decided what breeds I want, and figured this would be a good place to help with research to narrow down exactly what we want and how to get there.

Egg layers. Growing up it was always just plain white or brown eggs, I never realized the color range of eggs! It's amazing.

Then I'd suggest Rhode Island Reds, Wyandottes, Golden Comets, Barred Plymouth Rocks, Easter Eggers, and Welsummers, Austrolorps, and Orringtons. These are my personal favs. They are good laying breeds, colorful, and have beautiful egg colors.
