Hi Everyone! I am just starting out and trying to convince my wife to jump into chickens as well. I have read everything I can get my hands on but want to experience the real thing! I am looking at raising some meat birds (Cornish Rock Broilers) and a half-dozen or so laying hens (Maybe Plymouth Rocks or a hybrid - suggestions are welcomed [IMG]).

Anyway, it's good to be part of the community!

Hi! I'm new to chickens too; isn't this the greatest site ever?! I'm getting chicks the week of May 25th from McMurray Hatchery (Speckled Sussex & Rhode Island Reds). I wanted brown egg layers. Good luck with your chicken adventures!
