As many of you, I am raising chickens that belonged to one of my children that moved to another state. I am not totally clueless about chickens but here’s something I don’t seem to find: Feed that is organic, non gmo, without corn. Can someone tell me where to find or if you have a recipe I can make myself? Thanks!

Please do not try to make feed yourself.
Are you yourself allergic to corn?

The best type of feed you could feed those chickens is a pelleted or crumbled fresh feed that can be bought locally to you.

Whole grain type feeds can become a problem when The birds pick and choose which grain they want to eat because they won't be getting a balanced diet.
That will lead to serious issues which can be avoided.

If you tell me about where you are located I can look up the different feed stores and show you exactly which store near you carries the type of food you're looking for.. If there is one if not you can always order online and have it shipped but that gets very costly very quick.

Hello, and welcome to BYC!

First off, is there a reason you do not want corn? Corn is a main ingredient in most feed it'll be hard to find a brand that does not include any. Organic and non gmo should be easier to come by. I'd check your local feed stores and then look for any mills that might be near you. You may have to order off online if you can not find any.

I would not recommend making your own feed. It is often lacking in all the nutrients the birds need and it gets expensive very fast.
