Hello, everyone! I have been viewing this site for quite some time and finally decided to log in. I do not have any chickens yet and probably wont until next year. I am in the designing stages of my chicken coop. I really enjoy reading all the post and seeing the designs of the coops. Four years ago I purchased 3.5 acres in rural NE Kansas and have no animals other than two big dogs. I am originally from the great state of Oregon and have landed in Kansas for the last 14yrs. My mother came to visit two months ago and she "suggested" I build a chicken coop and get some animals. She kept harping on me so I started researching and found this wonderful site. Thanks for all the ideas.

I wish I'd spent longer on choosing my coop, I went into this on a whim! Now got to get another coop as I NEED more chickens, haven't told my D/H yet, Lavender Orpingtons are next on my list.
