Hello:
I am Dennis, originally in Puerto Rico. I grew up raising chickens and other animals. I have been in Michigan for 31 years and finally decided to do something I did enjoy very much: raising chickens. This will be different here due to weather conditions, etc. I got 16 hens???, 4 turkeys, and 4 ducklings? I will be asking for a lot of questions, specially when it begins turning cold again. Right now my chicks are about 6 week olk and are in big boxes in the garage. No longer a heat lamp, just an LED lights. They seem to be doing well and have not lost a single one. I am currently working on two coops and some a couple of runs. Since I am a college professor I don't have much time to work on those things and feel as if the chicks, etc. are ready to head out. Will keep you posted as the progress of the flock, etc. I still fell nernous about it, but will put a great effort to make sure these animals are happy and healthy. Thanks for all the posting and information available in this site which has helped me in many was no to begin with expensive mistakes.
