(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My wife and I got our first chickens last May. Other than random sightings throughout my life, I had never before had any experience with chickens.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now we have approximately (because they keep multiplying--lol) 60 chickens.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have Silver Penciled Rock (1), Black Langshan (1- Fred, he's my baby), SS Hamburg (1), Buff Orp (1), Blue Langshan (21), Amerecauna (4), Modern Game (15ish--they're the ones that keep hatching babies), White Leghorn (1), GD Phoenix (2), Silkie (2, 1 white, 1 partridge), and....Golden Comet (8).
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
From the Googlez and from the lady we bought the Silkies from.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
The chickens take all of my spare time, but I do occasionally dabble with movies and spending time with the family.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Well, the chickens allow my wife and two kids to reside on their property in exchange for their feed and water. We also have 2--gasp--Pit Bulls, and one Pit-Lab mix. They are all three the sweetest things you'll ever meet, don't believe every thing you hear on the news. In addition, we have 11 fish and a dove.
