new to the egg thing (help)

hello all!
okay so i am on day 2 with one of my 5 chickens laying an egg! this time i witnessed it! i was checking on her,, as she was getting settled into the nesting box, and there before i knew it, she pushed out an egg.
The first one she laid broke so this one i was determined to save it!
so i reached my hand in and took the egg from her.
still warm in my hands i showed her the egg, so she knew what she had done.
so proud of my girl!
my question is that, after i took the egg,, i gave her a treat .
should i have left the egg with her a bit more? I was afraid it was going to break, she kept moving the hay around in her nesting box and cleared an area, but the area open was just the board. (sorry for the confusion)
any information will help me be a better momma to my girls!

I don't think it will matter that you removed the egg promptly.

Some people put a piece of those rubbery shelf liner sheets under the nesting material when hens do this much rearranging. She may calm down when she gets more used to laying.
