Rodents or snakes can get into your brooder unless it is secured everywhere with hardware cloth. You should have no opening larger than a quarter. So NuttinButLuv Farm took a small sad hit today. The one chick that was hatching last night passed away before it even hatched. The 2 babies that hatched the other day, I had put in the brooder, have just up and disappeared???? No clue where they went????? They cant get out of it.... smh But low and behold another chick hatched tonight. Any clues how 2 chicks can just poof into thin air???????
