Welcome TX Missy. The wife always freaks out when she sees pics of a chicken on someone's shoulder. She would tell you they like pecking shiney things. Yep eyeball. Happened to her & one of her indoor dogs. Ouch!

Best not to have chickens close to your face, they will peck at anything shiny. They will also peck at eye glasses.
