Hello all. I am new to this thing we call chickens. I do not have any chickens yet. I have wanted to have chickens for havesting their eggs for a long time. I have been working on my coop now for going on and off for six months now. I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and hope to be finished by this week end. I have no chicken yet but will have five as soon as the coop and run are complete. I found backyardchickens from a neighbor who kick started my endevor. My wife is not looking forward to the chickens, but I am sure she will come around.
I am a full time Navy man about to retire next year. I share my home with my loving wife, 14 yr old son, six year old son and my three year old whippet mix pup.
The site has been instrumental in preparing my coop. Thanks for everything so far.
