G’Day from down under LaPlume :frow Welcome!

Thank you for a great introduction.

I do hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Thanks, Farmer Connie. Good to be here.

What a beautiful flock that must be!
Yes, quite colorful! I started out with just New Hampshire Reds and Barred Plymouth Rocks, but my original flock was decimated by some stray dogs (that have now been eliminated); when I decided to get more chicks from a hatchery, I ordered many different breeds that I hadn't seen before.

Thanks, KikisGirls. The info was very much appreciated. I never realized that chicken farmers used to cut back on feed to force a molt. My flock would never let me get away with that---I think they'd peck down the door to get to the feed!
