To you all, many thanks for your encouragement. I persevered even with a very late comment that she was a he - and I have experienced the sensation of finding Madonna's first egg. Tucked away in some tall grasses around the pond was a tiny nest. One egg last Sunday and another on Monday gave us the perfect addition to a homemade hamburger with the lot last night. Now to find her a companion and maybe she will start to sleep in the coop we made last weekend.
