New to the group🌺

My husband and I have 4 chickens. I'm not sure what breed they are? But, we've had them since they were little, about 18 weeks old. We purchased them for laying eggs because we live in Hawaii and they're expensive in the stores I'm looking forward on learning all that I can about raising healthy and happy chickens ☺
Because we're new on raising chickens in Hawaii AND we live in a rainforest... It's pretty challenging.
We also have a dog that stays on our porch watching the hens in our front yard.
I found out about BYC from a September/October 2010 article in the "Ke Ola magazine" and joined right away

Hi welcome to BYC! Since you live in a rainforest I would get a strong netting roof for security and the runs fencing should go into the ground

Welcome to BYC. I have ducks, and help with my daughter's chickens and peacocks. I'm so glad to have found BYC. No question is considered stupid. People are kind and non-judgmental. I'll be thinking of you while here in Ontario buried in snow. ☃
