This seems like it will be a great community to support my backyard adventure!

We live in Beecher, IL (about 40 miles south of Chicago). It is a lovely, farming community with great small town feel. . .1 small issue. . ."no livestock allowed in town". Can you believe it! We are literally surrounded by thousands of acres of farmland, but no, no, no chickens in town :-(

I am hopeful that this is merely an issue of education, and I am willing to do the work needed to have the ordinance modified, but I am not sure where to begin. Have any of you been involved in this process where you live??
