Ohh good mine are too, they’re only a few days old tho baby chicks. That’s good and good job keeping them hydrated. Mine are obsessed with this silk pillowcase lolThey are in a brooder plastic container. They are about 3 to 4 weeks old. Got them at a feed store! They are both still alive. Testing and drinking water.
Sorry to hear you are having this happen. There are much more experienced people here that can advise you I just wanted to say sorry and welcome.Hello
My name is Raquel and Im happy to be in this group. I bought 7 chicks at Tractor Supply when the pandemic started and we decided to work and my kids did school virtually from our future retirement home out in the country. The chicks grew and one happened to be a rooster. Later in my sister that is also a school teacher asked me for fertilized eggs for her school project. = 7 chicks 2 hens 5 roosters. Kept the hens and 2 roos. Rehoused the rest of the roosters. Bought 5 Rivas Island Reds. Went back to work in the city and been keeping 3 silkies in my garage 2 hens and a rooster. My problem is that bought 4 baby chicks. I move one of my silkies so she could play mama. Two of the 4 chicks died and one of the two left stared having respiratory issues. Would sound congested. The silkie was dead in the morning. Now the other chick started to act funny. Saw like a clear bubble on one of his eyes. Investigated and they probably have a very contagious decease that is incurable and more than likely will pass in to the rest. I'm sorry but I can not kill them. My other two silkies have not had contact with them and my birds in the country have nit had any contact with them. Don't know what to do have eggs hatching in about a week!!!
Thank you!Welcome to BackYard Chickens. And a Big Hello from Eastern Nebraska. Good Luck with everything.
