Good morning fellow chicken lovers.
My husband and I recently embarked on the world of backyard chickens. He has been wanting to get chickens for a while but I was hesitate. This spring after much research, we finally decided on a coop design and started building. After many weeks sweating our tail feathers off in the GA heat, we finished the coop and felt confident that it was predator proof enough to fill it with little nuggets. We visited a local farm and picked out 9 little fluffy new family members. We are confident we have 4 Rhonda Island Reds and think we have 5 Blue Andalusian's although the sale man didn't see as confidant in his titling as he called them "Blue Somethings". Regardless, we are in love. They are currently an estimated 4 weeks and growing super fast. We are excited to have begun this journey of having a backyard chickens and I look forward to interacting with everyone.
