Hi all! New to the group, just moved back home to Carroll County, MD, and excited to finally have land and space to start my own small flock in our yard!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am BRAND new to chickens! Worked on a dairy farm as a kid; have a HUGE veggie garden
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
None yet
(3) What breeds do you have?
None yet
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I’m excited to tend to a flock and get farm fresh eggs!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I am a long time firefighter. Former career, but have been volunteering for 20 years. Currently a volunteer Assistant Fire Chief in Baltimore County, MD. Also enjoy vegetable gardening and working on my truck.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My wife of 13 (almost 14) years and I have two boys, ages 8 and 12. We have 2 dogs, Max is our 5yo beagle/pointer mix and Bruster is our 20 week-old pug/boxer puppy! I work full time for FEMA and my wife is a firefighter/paramedic in Baltimore County.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found the site after an internet search, came up right at the top! Excited to learn from you all!
