Hi! My name is Heather. I live in Southern Virginia I am a stay at home mom of 2 kids, a Siberian Husky, a Beagle and a Hound Dog; in addition to 3 cats. I have been thinking about getting 4 hens because this is something I have always wanted to do. Not sure where to start.. which breed or how to make the best cope. So as of right now I am in the researching process. I do know that I will have an inclosed caged area instead of letting them roam since there are cats outside and hawks that always fly overhead.
I am wanting a breed that is good with children and are calm. Should produce some eggs but doesn't have to be too many and would be good for my climate hot/cold. An easy hen for a beginner like me who has no experience.
