Need help I am new to the hobby This is my very first hatch ever. See pics. I incubated 12 chicken eggs 10 hatched not bad but the first to hatch 1:00 am this morning seem to have a leg problem i thought it would clear up but as of yet tonight it hasn't can anyone offer any advice.

Take half (one of the sticky parts) of a bandaid and place the chick's foot on it so that it is straight/normal then put the other half of the bandaid over the foot so that it is held in place. It doesn't look too bad and the chick should start walking with the bandaid "boot" pretty quickly. Leave it for about 24 hours (you may want to change the bandaid if it gets bedding stuck to it) and it should be straightened out when you remove the bandaid. I had to do it with a quail chick that hatched 6 (!) days late, and his feet are perfectly normal now (although he does have wry neck from being stuck in the shell so long!).

Well he was first to hatch right on time 21days and i was sleeping on the coutch, herd him or her make some loud peeps and woke me up to find him just hatched. he dosn't like the band aid he keeps shaking it. i guess using the leg and food is good :)

Sometimes if the humidity is too low chicks can also have problems like that and sometimes it is just completely random. He won't like it at first and the others may try to eat it, but just tell him it's for his own good, he'll be picked on my the other chickens if he grows up with a crooked foot
