Hello there!
I just realized I keep forgetting to introduce myself (after a week of bombarding everyone with duck questions).
I live in Prescott Valley Arizona in a suburban neighborhood, and have raised both chickens and ducks. Sadly my entire flock was recently wiped out by raccoons that have moved into my neighborhood.
Since then my husband and I have lived and learned, are working on fortifying coops, trapping coins, and have acquired two new ducklings- a Rouen (my personal favorite) named nubbins, and a Duclair named Ebby.
We have most definitely become (obsessed) duck people and love them To pieces.

Glad you're here !

A must have for your poultry is a FIRST AID KIT for any issues that would arise. ( https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/suggestions-for-a-first-aid-kit.1150128/ )
It's definitely better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.

Also, make sure your coop(s) have a proper amount of VENTILATION. ( https://www.backyardchickens.com/ar...-there-and-cut-more-holes-in-your-coop.47774/ ) Your chickens will absolutely thank you for it!

One last thing, please get your chickens some Vaseline or bag balm to stave off frostbite before they get it! Baby, it's cold outside! :D
