Hello! my name is Tessa and I am new to the website, I have loved chickens for a long time and look forward to getting help on how to better raise them.

1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have had chickens for 5 years, my first ones were 3 barred rocks whom I still have, 2 isla browns, 1 sex-link,
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 18 hens and 1 rooster
(3) What breeds do you have?
I have 3 mili fluers, 1 lavender orpington, 2 buff orpingtons, 1 silkie, 1 blue splash maran, 2 olive eggers, 2 barred rocks, 2 amaracanas, 1 game hen bantam, 1 Japanese bantam, 1 sebrite, and 2 creme barbanters
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I have been using it to look up how to help my chickens for a long time but never got to signing up
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I am in band and play alto saxophone and trumpet
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm only in high school right now but I have a friend who owns a dog groomer and she said I can probably get a job there soon. I also would like to be in the law enforcement once I get out of high school. I have 3 dogs, a bishon frise shih-tzu mix named sully, a shih-poo named Odie, and a miniature schnauzer named Josie

Greetings and welcome to BYC! So glad you joined us. There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!

Oh, if you haven't done so already, PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. Old folks like me :old will never remember from this thread. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes.
