I have been given 7 chicks and need to get started on their new coop. I have been viewing the coops on this site. Quit a lot of designs to choose from. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

! Pleased you joined our flock! The only things I can advise on your coop is size (4 sq. ft. of space per bird) and on safety - chicken wire keep chickens in but doesn't keep predators out - put hardware cloth around the perimeter from the ground up to 12-15". It is pricey but will keep your birds safe. Good luck to you!

Welcome and best of luck to you and your flock.

This is my first experience with backyard chickens. I only have 3. I chose the chicken tractor route
so I could move it around my yard until I decided if I was a full fledged crazy chicken lady. Well, I
guess it's time for me to build the permanent coop and call me crazy. These things have taken hold of
my heart. Never thought that was possible.
