Out of these 4 hens are grown and laying one mature too the rir and the barred too as bough to go with the younger girls. I watch then scratch and peck just so relax g

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Congratulations on your new chickens :celebrate You have quite a mix there but if you don't have your Roos seperate with there own hens I would just watch out for them fighting over the girls.
Be sure to ask any questions you may have everyone here to help and friendly. Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

I am planning on separating the Different breeds to try and raise some. Buffs are a little hard for me to sex so may have a too in there too. I like a variety of nothing else I'll send the extra roos down the road and keep the one I like best.

Thanks for the link I'll look it up. Had an old timer tell me the roosters matured slower in buffs I can usually pick a rooster out fairly quick from most others cone growth attitude and am usually right may have just lucked up and have 5 hens

glad you have joined us.

I'm no expert but do have BO's. I think most resources suggest rate of early feather growth can be a gender sign in many breeds, but it will take a few weeks to be sure if there is a roo in the group. If you got them from a breeder or hatchery with feather sexing experts, they do run 90% accurate 1-2 days after hatching.

I have 5 BO my wife got them from a local fellow that is fairly good at sexing and he has problems with BO

Mine are old enough they should be hens by my calculations but I could pick the Roos out of the rir quick there comes and attitudes showed up early
