New to the site with new babies:)

Hi I am new to this site as well as raising chickens....any words of wisdom for beginners like me? I have 2 Barred Plymouth Rocks...Nellie and Lily....they are 14 days old....My other 6 girls..wink, wink...hoping they are all hens....were born on St Patrick's Day....they are 2 Black Jersey Giants, 2 Buff Brahmas and 2 light Brahmas 5 days old... I am a nervous mama and want to spoil them right away and am a little confused with the treats. Could someone help clarify?

1. What age
2. What can I give them-and how much?
3. Do I have to get grit before I give them a treat and how much?

Also, how long do I need to keep putting the Sav-A -Chick in my babies water? They are messy and I clean their water at least 3 times a day. Going through alot of the packets.
I am feeding them Purina Start and Grow as well.

Also, at what age can I take them outside to play? I have an area set up for them I realize they are to young right now, but their are conflicting time frames all over the place.

Thank you soooo much for the information....I am still trying to figure this site out too...tee hee.I looked forever to find your response to my questions. I'm not to familiar with forums (set up). These babies are a crack up! What little joys they are This site is wonderful...alot of great information and some hysterical stories.....Your in Sacramento, right over the hill from me.
