Hi I am a new chicken mama. I am excited and have lots of questions about raising chickens.

My daughter gave me some of her hens because she was getting new chicks. These hens are older hens but I also had someone give me a rooster that is about 3 months old. These hens are mean to the rooster. They peck, chase and run him away from water and food. Is this normal and do I need to do anything?

Perfectly normal. He will one day earn their respect and be allowed to breed them.
