Excited about my little "guy"!

We adopted an African gosling. Cheep Cheep is what we call "him". Of course we don't know the sex yet, but, my 3 year old daughter is convinced, so... We call him him...

He came alone, as he was alone with a bunch of turkeys. He was injured, and "abandoned..." That we were told by the guy at the feed store. So, he gave Cheep Cheep to us! We love him already. But, even as a baby, he can get quite mean!!! Any ideas what to do about his biting?

Also, he has an issue. His crop is always inflamed, and has been for the last week. Since we got ducklings. And now the ducklings are starting to get inflamed too.

Any ideas?

Will post pics soon.

Hey it's me again. I can only say that my Embden gander is a biter. Most of the time I can avoid being bitten but as they grow older he is now 5 I don't allow my grankids inside the fence where he is. Not worth it. They have to admire he from the other side. So since you have a 3 yr old please be careful not only can the goose hurt your little one but your little one can injure the gosling at this stage. I found some info here that may help you in training your gosling. It's good he has friends [ducks] because it really isn't a good idea to raise one alone. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/51938/training-goslings-aggressiveness/10 All the best with your gosling and training.
