New to this coop

I don't think that is weird at all. My husband said if could I potty train them, they would be in the house. LOL I have a small flock and they are more pets, than livestock (very young). Since I had to give up (rehome) my 3 cockerels, I am protective of my pullets. The one in my profile picture was only 14 weeks old and he was a great protector. So, I totally understand, and applaud your efforts to keep them safe! We also have 3 dogs/one being a 100lb German Sheppard with 24/7 access to the backyard (I love doggy doors!). He is also the reason we cannot free range. :) I am so sorry for your lose. I hope everything goes much better moving forward! So, glad you joined us.

Hello Billy, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.

Is your rooster aggravating because of bad behavior or because he is crowing 10' from you bedroom window at o' dark thirty?

I suggest reinforcing your coop with strongly attached 1/2" hardware cloth and moving it away from the bedroom.
