New to this site

[Mary Kubart]

Hi all! My Name is Mary and I am a new member. I live in the Hudson Valley and have had a few chickens for the last couple of years. I just added to my flock this past spring. Originally I had two Dominiques and one Easter Egg. This year I added four Buff Orphingtons, two Barred Rock, three more Easter Eggers, and one Silver Laced Wyandotte. They have all integrated well, however I am now dealing with the dilemma of figuring out if I have some roosters. One of my Buffs has a very red pronounced comb, and two of my Easter Eggers have pretty pointy neck feathers. No one is really crowing yet, but I’m definitely waiting for the vocal clarification. They were born the beginning of April, so it’s just a matter of time.

Hello, Mary, and welcome to BYC! Glad you joined.
At nearly 5 months old, any cockerels should have announced themselves and they would have prominent pointed saddle feathers. Feel free to post pictures of your suspects.
Also at 5 months some of the girls may be starting to develop larger redder combs as their hormones begin to surge in preparation for egg laying.
