Hi Mary! Welcome to BYC! You'll be glad you joined! If you post some pictures of your little friends I'm sure the people here can help out. I myself received a graphic that was very helpful in determining the sex of my chickens, I'll go hunt it down for you!

Hopefully this helps. I was misinterpreting the "pointy feathers" instruction on reading the sex of your chickens - I thought they were referring to how the feather physically pointed off the chicken, not that rooster feathers are physically pointy vs. hen feathers being physically round. Hopefully that gives you some guidance and maybe some relief!

I myself LOVE my buff orpingtons. So does my dog, I'm pretty sure he thinks he's a chicken now because of those two.
