This might seem like a silly question but we are going to be getting baby chicks from TSC soon and I was wondering when we do put them in the coop should we have the nesting boxes in from the start or just put them in when they are going to start producing? Thanks!

Chicks should not have access to nest boxes until they are ready to lay. Otherwise, they will see them as beds and places to poop.

Of course you can put the nest boxes in now if you wish-- just cover them so the babies don't get in them for sleeping and pooping.
Good luck on your new adventure and [IMG]
