what do you think minimum size flock for a rooster? My coop will be 16 sqft inside and about a 90 sqft run - granted I have over a half acre fenced for them to run around in

I was thinking 6 max for large birds comfortably (in the coop) - I really don't want a large flock
I would say only 4 to 5 in a coop and run that size. You need 3 to 4 sq ft per bird, not including nest boxes, in the coop. You also need 1 foot of roost and 1 sq ft of permanent ventilation per bird.
A run needs about 15 or more sq ft per bird. Especially if they are confined 24/7.
My own roosters need 7 or more hens each, to keep them from wearing the feathers off their backs. Unless you want to hatch your eggs, you don't really need a rooster. In fact, your hens will probably lay better without one hassling them. Hens are usually friendlier when there isn't a male around too.

You shouldn't have a rooster in this size coop as it limits the number of hens he can have. He should have at least 6; 10 is better.
They wear off the back feathers off their hens if there aren't enough ladies.
