4 narragansetts and 6 bourbons. hatched friday night sat morning. I know I need gamebird feed. What exactly would that be at the TSC? Is there a high protein chick starter that would work?
what is the minimum protein needed for a turkey?

I don't see a gamebird food listed, and a 24% chick starter is the best they have, until I can get to a feed mill that has some gamebird feed.

You really should get at least 28%, but 24 should work for a couple days. I've only used 20-30% protein.

I have turkey poults coming next month and I have been doing some research on feed etc....I want to stick with feeding them Turkey food but so far everything I have read is that people tend to feed them chicken feed, scratch and boss, as well as free ranging. A lot of people who have chickens, feed their turkeys the exact same they feed their chickens.

My feed store does not carry gamebird feed, So I am still researching this, I was just mentioning what I have read thus far....not sure if it will help you, but in any event the protein content they feed their turkeys is between 24 and 28%

I am the first one in my local area with turkeys, so if I wanted turkey feed I would have to special order it.

Thats what I had thought before about 28%. I was not expecting the polts for another week so I had not picked up feed yet.
