Nipple waterers and poop boards!
So I had chickens (sheep, rabbits, pigs and a steer) as a young kid (+35 years ago) and found out several months ago that 2 of my kids have friends with backyard chickens. I've always thought if would be nice for my kids to learn more about where their food comes from since we live in a large metro area. And I think technically my yard isn't quite big enough to have backyard chickens, but right before Easter I figured, "what the heck" let's throw the idea out there and see if it sticks.
Well, we've had 4 chicks (2 EE's and 2 SLW's) in our cardboard brooder for almost a month now and things are going smoothly. Been working on coop plans and hope to start the building in several weeks. (Boy, chicks get big real fast)
I'm so glad I found BYC and have learned so much during my lurking. Thanks everyone.
