New waterer for ducks.

I decided to give up one of my dog waterers that I wasn't really using and put it in the yard for the ducks. Its deep enough they can duck their beaks into the waterer and keep their noses clean. The only issue is that the ducks and geese seem to think it's their personal waterer and won't always let the chickens near it LOL. Here's the Quack Pack hanging out today.

They sure are little hoggies. LOL They don't want the chickens anywhere near where they are.......poor chicklets.

I have used these for the last 5 years for my dogs and even have one in my kitchen connected to the house water. While they are more pricey than other such waterers, the bowl comes off easily for cleaning, unlike other ones so I chose these.
Hauling water is not one of my favorite things to do, so we installed a Rain Barrel and added tubing that runs into the chicken coop, and down the fenceline for the Quack Pack enclosure and also for this dog waterer which is just outside in the community yard. Its working out so well that I might do another way way in the back of their yard so they don't have to go so far to get a drink.
I made the little platform out of of a mini-pallet covered in hardware cloth and a shade top (which I still need to paint). Always some little project huh lol

Thanks I'll have to check that out, so what do you use in winter outside? I have to use heated buckets

It really doesn't get all that cold here thankfully. As long as there is a roof over the top of the water it shouldn't freeze. Only had to go attend to that maybe twice since I have lived here (with dog waterers). I see on Nelson's site that they have a water bucket heater. I am wondering if it can be adapted for this waterer. They have been awesome everytime I have called I'm sure they have something that works with these.
