finally got my horizontal nipple waterer built and into the run. ive got a 250w deicer in there

the chickens were all curious and pecking around the nipples. i’m gonna leave their old waterer in there for another day or two until i’m sure they’re all getting water from the nipples.

I have a very similar set up.
I have found they work a lot better when they have to reach up to drink rather than bend down to get to the nipple.
Just an observation
I hang mine with the nipple height at chicken head height

You can also get another bucket as a stand, turn it upside down and put the waterer on top of it, and that'll often get you close to the height you need.
