Hey everyone!
My family and I are living in Florida with 3 dogs and now 2 Ducks!

My daughter randomly said "I want to hatch some eggs" last year in October.... So I thought, why not

We were lucky enough to get some egg from a friend of our who aalready had some welsh harlequin ducks. Made a homemade incubator and 25 days later, 2 of them made the cut and were still kicking. On day 29, out hatched 2 baby ducks on Dec 3 2015. 1 male and 1 female. What an experience and I'm glad the build up of anxiety and fighting off the temptation of trying to help them out of their shell on day 28 is over.... We now have 2 happy ducks that are almost 3 months old. I joined to share my experience and to share my duck pond experience now that I finally have a 125 gal duck pond that naturally filters itself with a bio filter and pool pump. To my surprise, the water is still perfectly clear after running for a month without the need for any water changes, only top off every couple days. And there's actually surviving Gold fish that I put in their 2 weeks ago still swimming around in the bottom!

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! That's sounds quite an experience with your duck eggs there. I'm pleased you have two healthy ducks now. I'm not a duck keeper myself but I see you have found the duck section. I'm sure you will enjoy chatting with the other duck keepers there.

Good luck for the future and enjoy BYC :frow
