new with chickens

I purchased one from Jeffers Livestock. I think it is made by 4-h it has the screw top to you can fill from the top and not have to take it apart. Hope this helps.

I use gallon milk jugs with a whole cut in the side (the whole actually goes across two sides so more thence girl can access it). This is the feeder. My waterer is a gallon sized font I bought at the feed store. It has a flat top, and it sits on a piece of firewood to raise it off the ground. I've read that you can glue a funnel on top to keep them from sitting on it.

I like using the milk jug as a feeder, because the have to reach in and down to get food, so There's no spillage. I secure it to a post with a piece of wire. It would work for water, too.

Hope this is helpful...I'm new to this, too. Aren't they fun?:)
