Since your neighbor is a vegetarian or vegan or whatever she calls herself, please explain to her that your roosters life is just as important as any other animals life, and you are trying to give him a good life.

We moved to the country about 8 years ago. The farm across the road was for sale a couple years after we moved out here. My biggest fear was that someone with a bunch of screaming kids and barking dogs would move in, and it would be the same as living in town again.

It sold to a lady with horses, donkeys, geese, chickens, and guinea hens. So now we have to listen to that. Oh my, such a tragedy. We love it!

You are outside of the city limits doing what you want to do and legally can do. She could do the same thing or move. I wouldn't do a thing differently. I'd give her a dozen eggs and tell her you're sorry she doesn't like your chickens, but you do, and she may as well get some too then.

Yeah, tell her you're considering getting guinea hens, but since she's disliking a rooster crowing so much, those would be 10X as annoying. Then tell her you'll think about it.
