new with welsh Harlequin's

Dang these guys are fast growers! I still can't believe they are so big. When should I see adult feathers coming in?

OH and when is it safe.to put them outside in the duck enclosure??

If I am remembering correctly, around 4 weeks they get their feathers. Once they are fully feathered you can put them outside permanently in an enclosure. If the weather is warm enough, you could take them out for visits daily. We would leave ours outside during the day and bring them in at night. Beware of predators! Make sure they have ample amounts of water and no tubs big enough to where they can get stuck inside the water. We had a shallow bowl and had six drown at the same time. Put a brick or something inside no matter what if it is big enough for them to climb in.
Best of luck!

Thanks will do. Not sure what I will keep them in soon. They have to stay in.the laundry closet in a tub right now as my indoor cats think they are toys :(

You could buy a rabbit cage and that way they will be protected. Or I have used fencing or hardware cloth over whatever base and that keeps them protected, but if your cats are really persistent you could drill some holes in your base and zip tie your wire in place.

There enclosure outside is predator proof and its in the 90s everyday here in Alabama. Around 70 at night and very muggy

Might be responding a little late, but we made a ducky brooder by taking a big Rubbermaid tote and carving about a 12' x 18" window out of the lid, then bolting hardware cloth to it (and using large washers to distribute the weight better). I duct taped the edges on the top to hide sharp edges with some of the decorative Duck brand tape. Came out pretty cute, and functional! Our kitten loves to lay on the lid and watch the duck, but since it's bolted it holds her weight fine--heck, I had been prepared for my 2 year old to try to crawl on it. We clipped a light to it through the window for warmth. It was kind of thrown together because we got the duckling by surprise after a neighbor's dog attacked the mom and babies--this is the only one that was left after the mama took off with one and 2 others died.

Poor ducks! But we are good now. Almost feathered now.and.happy outside
