We're planning on moving in a few weeks. The house we're moving to once housed chickens, goats and turkeys. I dont know if the animals were healthy or not. The area I'm planning on putting the coop and run is a location near to where the people before had their birds. Should I do anything to clean the area? I know when people have puppies with parvo they treat the yard with bleach to disinfect it. Would you do anything to the yard?
It'll be a week or two til coop/run construction begins so I have plenty of time to treat it.

Hose down, scrub and disinfect any housing or concreted yards before adding animals. I'm not sure what you can do about possible contaminated pasture, I think it's just a case of waiting a year until using the pasture for the animals.

the people who use to live there moved out sometime last summer/fall, so by the time we get there it'll be about a year. There're no concrete slabs and most of the out buildings will be coming down. The property has a high water table so the majority of the yard is a pond, thats about as hosed down as you can get. There is no pasture it's basically a subdivision in the woods.
Thanks for the input
