You don’t have to know their name if you’re never gonna see them again, but if it’s a stranger you see everyday I feel like it’s weird to say “hello” instead of “Hey blahblah”
Hey “Blah blah” ….. it’s another day that ends in “y”; so “Why ya bugging’?”

“Word.”
/end of line.

But what if they cringe and be like why is this weirdo talking to me like I don’t even know their name. But if I say it they’ll be like “Oh hey! That person knows my name!” I know I am always shocked when one of my classmates knows my name. It makes me feel not so invisible. Or if I don’t say their name they might not know I’m talking to them and it’ll be really akward. If someone says hello and they don’t say my name I usually don’t respond in fear they are not talking ato me.

Because there’s a 99% chance they aren’t.
“Yo, Good Ole What’s-her-name….. Word!”

@EmmaRainboe see how easy this thread moved along *WITH* Your interaction?

It take much less effort to accomplish the task of saying “one word”(or more) to a *stranger/new face/known face but, name mystery.

Food for thought?
“Word?”
/end of line
This is through text though. I can take as long as Iwant (even days) to respond and think of what I want to say, and also edit, remove, add, revise sentences to push across the exact message I want received. Plus I don’t have to deal with my broken voice box or social cues.

It is very possible that the person you are afraid to speak to may be just as afraid to speak to you. If you say 'Good Morning' they may respond in kind, nod or start talking. They may be suprised or shocked that someone spoke to THEM. Try again next time you see them and they may open up. Or not. Then move on.
