Hello
I have just found your website and can't quite believe there are so many other chicken obsessed people out there. Chicken rearing in your back yard is a little unusual where I live but lots of people are interested and I've influenced a few to get started once they see how we keep them.
We have a large city section 1000m2 and have part of the yard fenced off for chickens to free range in. I have small arks for them to roost in. We have no foxes or other significant predators (aside from cats and rats) and a mild climate so easier than in some places.
I have 5 large Barred Rocks and one Barred Rock Bantam. Also a white Pekin (called Winter Princess....) and a new Polish Bantam who looks gorgeous but thanks to your website I think he is a rooster (he is starting to get pointy feathers round his crest neck and tail) and will have to go live somewhere else once he starts crowing (sadly). I would love to have full sized Polish chooks (love that hat!) but can not find a breeder in New Zealand - they are really rare here.
I can't get the clock to work for me (I don't know what time zone I am in....) am writing this at 10.15pm NZ time.
Greetings to you all
