Sorry you had so much trouble with your hatch. It is so frustrating when eggs that should hatch don't and so fantastic when they do. I've had broody hatched embryos die at the same stage so no method is perfect.

I join in the sending of good hatch vibes your way.

I am also on my first set if incubator eggs so I am only repeating what I have read. Humidity needs change with the day. Incubator instructions say way high compared to the seasoned hatchers on here. Days 1-18 35% lockdown to hatch (day 18 to 21+) 50 to 60%. Again that is only what I have read and been told on my own questions.

I've read reviews on that thermometer/hygrometer. Most had problems with it malfunctioning due to humidity getting into the electronics...aparently it's not sealed very well.

Yes you are so correct on that and I did not know until I cleaned it all out and left top off and today when I woke up it was stuck on the humidity and was not even plugged in. I have a thermometer/hygrometer coming on Monday and eggs now coming Wednesday due to such cold weather!!
I’m taking my bator back because it is junk
But what is a great incubator that is not a lot of money?? I won’t use it but prob a hatch or two. But I need to find a new one ASAP!! Can you help??

The genesis 1588 is one of the best. It is a bit higher than the lower level but not as much as the rcom or brinsea
 
This one does not have circulated air??
