My dad had brahma chickens and when I would walk in the chicken coop they would get on my feet and I would have to walk around the coop with them on my feet, that was many years ago, I got older and had to have some,I ordered some and realized not what I expected, the rooster is really big and good to the hens but he is not so gentle mounting the hens, should I get rid of him, 8 hens and one rooster

I really love my rooster, he comes running toward me every time I go to put them up at night, he runs so funny, he always makes me laugh

Is he a young rooster? Some take time to learn proper manners. Usually a group of hens will give a youngster a beating to knock some sense & respect into him. Are your hens also Brahmas or a smaller breed?

Hello and thank you for the help, I have 4 brahma hens and 4 isa brown hens, they all will be a year old in July, the feathers are gone on the back of three of the brahma hens

It would seem a shame to get rid of him. Have you considered a chicken saddle? Available on eBay for about £6-7!
