(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We were around chickens when we were growning up but don't know a lot of things.
We have had our chicken for about 4 to 6 months.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Whe have 7 chickens

(3) What breeds do you have? Rhode Island Red and Black Saxon

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? google

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Going to Church and serving God is my main interst, then quilting, canning, fishing

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a wonderful Husband, 5 beautiful children, 11 grandchildren. We have 2 dogs, a Chocolate Lab, and a Pomeraian, 1 cat, 1 tank of fish,and 7 chickens. I work with Special need Children.

There's lots of info on this site from fellow poultry enthusiasts.

It is also nice to have an audience for funny chickens stories, because non chicken people don't always get the humor!

Yes we get 4 to 7 eggs a day. However I think we may have mites. The feathers are coming out from around the neck of 4 of them. I need to know what to do to fix the problem without damaging the eggs because we eat the and sell a few too.

A funny story about our chickens is that my husband can go and let the chickens out of their pen to roam free in the yard for a while and they will follow him from one side of the yard to the other just like a dog. It is so funny to watch.
